Block Exemption
Block excemption was bought about by the EU to stop manufacturers having the monopoly on vehicle servicing. It stipulates that vehicle manufactures cannot insist that, to maintain a vehicles warranty it must be serviced by their dealers.
It states that vehicles may be serviced by independant garages incordance with the manufacturers service schedules, using parts that are too the equivilent to original specification and still maintain the warranty.
